OSB is an acronym for Oriented Strand Board. OSB Boards are made using layers of wood strands that are bonded using adhesives and compressed at a high temperature. The wood used to make OSB Boards comes from sustainable, small, quick-growing trees. OSB Boards differ from other wood-scrap products because the long strands of wood are placed strategically (stranded) rather than randomly thus giving them additional strength. These boards are good for interior use such as flooring and furniture since they are strong, and for exterior use such as roofing, as they are weather-resistant.
